After being rumored for a few months, Ubisoft unveiled their latest plan for Far Cry 3, and it is coming in the form of an XBLA/PSN downloadable game, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. Set in dystopian 2007, after "Vietnam War 2," the game has you playing as Sergeant Rex Power Colt, voiced by Michael Biehn (of Alien and Terminator fame). From the two trailers revealed, one gameplay and the other straight up live action, the game looks absolutely insane in the best way possible. The best part of all of this? It doesn't require you to have a copy of the original Far Cry 3 game, as it is a stand alone expansion. With a soundtrack done by retro video game music rockers Powerglove, the game is shaping up to be one of the biggest surprises of 2013.

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon will be released on May 1st for XBLA, PSN, and PC.
