Aaron Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen officially cast in Avengers: Age of Ultron

While there had been rumors abound, finally Marvel has confirmed the casting behind Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass) and Elizabeth Olsen (Oldboy) shall appear as the brother and sister duo in the sequel of the 2012 hit, The Avengers. Joss Whedon had teased about the two characters in interviews during the release of Iron Man 3, where he spoke of a brother and sister duo that he wanted to add to the roster.   Olsen and Johnson     While the second Avengers film is two years away, Olsen and Johnson will be seen together in Gareth Edwards' Godzilla remake, that's set to come out in 2014. Both actors have managed to deliver fantastic performances in their young filmography thus far, with Johnson's portrayal in Kick-Ass and Olsen debut in Martha Marcy May Marlene. The tricky thing thus far with these two characters being in involved with rights issues with Fox and Marvel Studios. Years ago, Marvel would give studios the rights to their characters to a variety of Hollywood studios, the two biggest being Fox and Sony. Fox owns the rights to the X-Men characters and mutants in general, which is why there have been plenty of X-Men films, which keeps the rights reverting back to Marvel and Disney. While many people have encountered the brother and sister duo as members of The Avengers, their first appearance and origin are essentially tied to the X-franchise, which makes them Fox characters, with a slight caveat. Kevin Feige, Executive Producer at Marvel Studios have said that the two characters are part of a loophole, in where if Fox wishes to use them in an X-Men film, they can and if Marvel wishes to use them in a film, they can as well. Avengers: Age of Ultron is set to be release on May 1st, 2015.
