Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel Overkill Trailer

Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel has a new trailer featuring the all-new "Overkill" mode. Check out the trailer below.

If this trailer is any indication, Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel looks to be the same over-the-top thrill ride as the two previous games. Gone, however, are Salem and Rios, the protagonists in the first two games, replaced by generic characters with generic names, Alpha and Bravo. It's a shame that Visceral decided to go away from the main characters of the first two games, as I thought they brought character to an otherwise mediocre third person shooter. The new trailer does try and add some humor, but it fell flat. The trailer does show off plenty of destructibility, utilizing the Frostbite 2 engine, which will definitely mix things up when it comes to combat and how each level plays out. With the new destructive elements added, "Overkill" becomes even more devastating. "Overkill" allows players to build up a meter based off of stylish kills, headshots and various other ways to deal death. One you fill the meter, you can activate "Overkill" which makes you invincible and grants you unlimited ammo, making you an unstoppable killing machine for a short period. Another interesting twist to "Overkill" is both you and your co-op partner can activate it simultaneously, meaning even more destruction.

Only time will tell if The Devil's Cartel can avoid the pitfalls of the previous titles. Look for Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel to hit stores on March 28 for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
