Arnold Schwarzenegger Next Role Is … “The Governator”

With Arnold Schwarzenegger's exit from politics as Governor of California, many in the industry have been courting him to return to filmmaking; courtship Schwarzenegger was happy to recieve. Would he return to his "Terminator" franchise? Would he move forward with "True Lies 2"?

No! Entertainment Weekly has an exclusive that his next role will be as a TV cartoon/comic superhero called "The Governator." Bear in mind, there is no typo in that last sentence.

In his first interview since he left office, Schwarzenegger talks about how he reacted when he first heard the title that would follow him through the years during his stay at the Governor's Mansion. "I thought the word was so cool...The word Governator combined two worlds: the world of politics and the movie world. And [this cartoon] brings everything together. It combines the governor, the Terminator...the True Lies".

The show is being co-developed by Stan Lee (who else?), with assurances that "'The Governator' is going to be a great superhero, but he’ll also be Arnold Schwarzenegger...we’re using all the personal elements of Arnold’s life...his wife...his kids...the fact that he used to be governor. Only after he leaves the governor’s office, Arnold decides to become a crime fighter and builds a secret high-tech crime-fighting center under his house."

According to the piece, not only will The Governator have an Arnold Cave, but a series of suits that allow him to perform various stunts and a recurring series of villains known as "Gangsters, Imposters Racketeers, Liars & Irredeemable Ex-cons... also known as "G.I.R.L.I.E. Men".

Seriously...we  couldn't make this up if we tried. The series is expected to hit airwaves sometime next year.
