[caption id="attachment_85722" align="alignnone" width="800"]BATMAN!!!! BATMAN!!!![/caption] Being Entertainment Fuse’s resident Telltale Games fanatic (a title I just invented, claimed, and will defend with personal duels), I’m happy to bring to you the following aggressive dose of aww yeah. https://youtu.be/hXVkXYaKqxM MMMMM. That’s exactly the scratch that I needed itching. Back in December, when this game announced I think I went questing around my neighborhood for high fives. I didn’t get any, but that’s not anyone’s fault. But who’s going to high five a random dude in flannel walking around with his hand in their air yelling “Aww yeah, Batman. Batman. Batman!” Well you would because you are wonderful fuse readers, but this isn’t about you. This is about the Telltale Batman and the coming release date which is August 2nd for PC/Mac, IOS, Amazon, Google Play, Steam, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. The full season pass is going to be available for purchase on September 13th. All good stuff, but I want to talk about this trailer. First of all, there is a big emphasis on the difference between Batman and Bruce Wayne here. They are mentioning that because of the well publicized mechanic that has you playing Bruce by day and Bat by night. Switching personas and accomplishing goals, it’s something I’m really excited about. But also it sets up that double identity, while referencing the mayoral election of one Harvey Dent, who is in his pre Two-Face acid accident state. I love the idea that this game might be delving into the duality of Bruce Wayne and comparing it with Harvey Dent, because of all the interesting psychological stuff. I'm looking forward to the way they contrast them. Telltale always has strong storytelling in these types of games. The rest of the trailer is standard. It has exciting set piece action. It teases of villains like Falconi and Catwoman. Those things are nice, but it’s not what I’m looking for with this game. This game is Telltale. Telltale does not do straight action games. They make story driven games, complicated games. And most of all this could be the very first time we get a game or a cinematic Batman experience that doubles down on his title as World’s Greatest Detective. That’s all I’ve got for this for now. Are you as excited as I am?
