Turn off the Lights

Ben Foster Will Star in ‘Gotti: In the Shadow of My Father’

After taking up a variety of roles since the late ‘90s, Ben Foster finally had something of a breakthrough with Oren Moverman’s drama The Messenger, starring opposite Woody Harrelson. Now he’s just signed on for a huge role that should guarantee him a spot on the A-list.

Foster will star Barry Levinson’s Gotti: In the Shadow of My Father according to Variety. The film will focus on the relationship between infamous mobster John Gotti (played by John Travolta) and his son John Gotti Jr., played by Foster, who decides against living the mobster life. Kelly Preston is set to paly Victoria Gotti with Al Pacino playing gangster Aniello Dellacroce.

Given what Foster’s been able to do before, he should fit in terrifically with this already awesome lineup of actors. It’s still unknown whether or not rumors of Lindsay Lohan making her way into the film hold any truth, but if that does end up happening, it’d definitely have an interesting turnout.

Pre-production for “Gotti” begins this September; principal photography commences in New York next January. The real John Gotti Jr. is serving as a consultant on the film.
