Turn off the Lights

Bioshock: The Collection Release Date Announced

"Would you kindly...?"
That’s a cool trailer. It fills me with longing for BioShock. Just listen to that last line: “We swim in different oceans, but land on the same shore. And it always starts with the lighthouse.” https://youtu.be/-UaeVy-tutU BioShock is the greatest game series I have ever played. It is surprising, inventive and beautiful. Each installment is a self contained game. The games don't merely have a storylines and cool gimmicks. They try to say something. The original lives in themes about power and how worlds are built. The sequel turns those themes around and asks what is a family. Infinite takes the previous games and looks at the nature of choice. If you haven’t played the original than you have missed out on some of the most important games ever made. It’s okay though. You can fix that because the BioShock: The Collection has been officially announced for the current generation of consoles. This has been rumored for a while with it appearing on many rating sites across the globe, but 2K Games had finally pulled the trigger. It is not just the original being re-released. Every single iteration is included: BioShockBioShock 2, The Protector Trials DLC, Minerva’s Den DLC, BioShock Infinite, Clash in the Clouds, Columbia’s Finest, and Burial at Sea Episodes 1 and 2. These games are all going to be re-released on September 13th. The 2K blog had this to say: “We’ve remastered BioShock, BioShock 2, and BioShock Infinite for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC making them look better than ever." BioShock: The Collection brings the three titles together for the first time, complete with all single-player DLC and a never-before-seen video series, “Director’s Commentary: Imagining BioShock,” which includes insights from Ken Levine – over $100 of content – for only $59.99.” Consider this writer really excited.
