Blair Underwood Returns to ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3

After two seasons, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has a solid cast of characters, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for more. This season, Blair Underwood will be extending his stay with The Cavalry, as reported by Variety. He has previously appeared in a few episodes of the series as Melinda May’s (Ming-Na Wen) ex-husband Andrew. Their relationship has been very hush hush thus far, with just a few hints at what their marriage was like and what led to their divorce. Hopefully with Underwood’s return, we will get a closer look at their relationship both past and present.

The last time we saw Andrew and May, they were headed off to a much need vacation in the aftermath of the explosive season finale. While we don’t know the exact amount of episodes he has signed on for, he could play a major part in this upcoming season. We know that Andrew is a neurologist and forensic psychologist, which means he might play a vital role as we get a closer look at the Inhumans and how they will impact the season. We will just have to wait and see how involved Andrew is in season three when it premieres Tuesday, September 29th at 9/8c p.m. on ABC.
