Blake Lively Considering “Oz, The Great and Powerful”

After starring in the two Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants films, Blake Lively had a meteoric rise to fame with her role on TV’s Gossip Girl and critically acclaimed albeit brief performance in Ben Affleck’s The Town last year. She stars alongside Ryan Reynolds this summer in Green Lantern, and it appears that she might give supernatural fare another go in the near future.

According to Variety’s Showblitz, Lively is looking to star in the Sam Raimi-helmed Oz, The Great and Powerful as Glinda, the Good Witch of the East. However, Oliver Stone has her at the top of his list to lead his film Savages. If Lively signs on for that one, she’ll play the shared girlfriend of two kingpins.

It’s tough to determine which role Lively will take (if she’ll play either part), but given that she’s proven herself as a serious actress lately, my first inclination would be that she’d join Stone. “Oz” currently stars James Franco and Mila Kunis.

How do you feel about Blake Lively’s rise to fame? Which role should she take?
