Bungie joins forces with Activision

With all of the turmoil surrounding Infinity Ward and Activision involving employees walking out, law suits, and multiple allegations; Activision/Blizzard have pulled a rabbit out of the hat with Bungie. Today they have announced a 10 year deal with the major publisher.

Halo: Reach is expected to be Bungie's last Halo title, and while Microsoft own the rights to the popular Sci-Fi franchise, Activision will now publish all of the studio's newest titles across multiple platforms. Bungie President Harold Ryan had this to say about the surprise announcement: "We chose to partner with Activision on our next IP because of their global reach, multi-platform experience, and marketing expertise. From working together over the past nine months on this agreement, it is clear that Activision supports our commitment to giving our fans the best possible gaming experiences."

Activision Blizzard COO Thomas Tippl shared the compliments, saying "Bungie has developed some of the most compelling and successful games, multiplayer experiences, and thriving fan communities, and this alliance underscores our long-standing commitment to foster the industry's best creative talent. Our unprecedented partnership with Bungie will enable us to broaden our pipeline of exciting new games as we continue to strengthen our industry position and pursue long-term growth opportunities."

Should be an interesting 10 years from these two gaming giants.
