Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Gameplay Trailer Released, What We Know So Far

"Rolling Stones + Call of Duty = Black Ops 3"
Activision has released the first gameplay trailer for the recently announced Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. The trailer shows a future filled with robots and Deus Ex style human augmentations. You can see the trailer below.

The trailer also seems to confirm the early information that was leaked about the game having a zombies mode at launch, a multiplayer beta and a focus on fluid movement controls. It seems that the exo suit gameplay from Advanced Warfare will return in Black Ops 3. Though most likely under a different name.
This newest Call of Duty is being developed by Treyarch, the developers of Black Ops and Black Ops 2. They also made the fan favorite World at War and their first Call of Duty game was Call of Duty 3. Treyarch is the studio who came up and made the first zombies mode. They also created the popular “Pick 10” system which going by leaked information, seems to be returning.
Seeing as most of the information that was leaked was correct, we assume that all of the information from these photos is correct. So here are some other things we know about Black Ops 3.
  • You can play the campaign with up to three other friends. Treyarch did a cooperative campaign mode in World at War. Since then, fans have been vocally asking for a new co-op campaign.
  • Pre-ordering the game will grant you access to a multiplayer beta. Call of Duty games rarely have multiplayer betas or demos. So is this a sign that Activision is less confident in the franchise? Maybe. But more likely data has shown that betas are a great way to boost pre-orders and make sure your game is working.
  • Customization is a huge part of the new Call of Duty. Players will be able to change their look in multiplayer and even single player.
  •  Zombies is coming back, as most people would expect. It also seems it will have it’s own experience bar and progression system. Each zombies mode has been bigger and more complex than the last, so I expect this will be even bigger and have more depth.
  • The campaign will contain “Arena-Style Play” areas. We don’t know exactly what these areas will be, but if we go by Treyarch’s last game, Black Ops 2, we might have an idea. Black Ops 2 had Strike missions which could be failed and had players jumping around different robots and soldiers. So these “arenas” might be special levels that are built around wave based or base attack gameplay.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is coming out November 6th for Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC. The official site implies that the beta will only be on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
We are not yet sure if the game will be released for PS3 or Xbox 360. I would be surprised to see Call of Duty skip those consoles entirely. I assume something, maybe not this game, will be released on last generation consoles this November.
