Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Claims Preorder Record

Call of Duty: Black Ops II has officially become Amazon's most preordered game, the company has revealed today. Before that, the record was for the franchise's previous entry Modern Warfare 3, which took the title last year. Even though Modern Warfare 3 held the pre-order record, Black Ops still remains the series biggest seller with over 25 million copies sold worldwide.

Not only has the game broke pre-order records but the game is also expected to break another record and have the biggest videogame launch of all time. This isn't entirely surprising seeing as all the previous entires in the franchise have done so but with the release of Halo 4, and the oversaturation of sequels, many predicted Call of Duty to have its first drop off so far. This now looks highly unlikely and you have to wonder if that will ever happen.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II is developed by Treyarch and published by Activision. It will be released worldwide for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on November 13th (tomorrow) with a Wii U release to follow shortly on the 18th.
