Castlevania Successor Funded in Under 4 Hours

"Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night"

Koji Igarashi, the producer behind the Castlevania games since Dracula X, returned after departing Konami last year with a Kickstarter for a spiritual successor to Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.

This new project, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, is currently slated for PC, Xbox One and PS4 and will be developed by Inti Creates, who helped develop Mighty No. 9 and Azure Strike Gunvolt. It’ll play much like Symphony of the Night, which is a maze-like, non-linear 2D action platformer sprinkled with some RPG elements.

This tickled many a gamer’s heartstring as the project reached its $500,000 goal in under four fours and is currently beating stretch goals like adding a second playable character, Nightmare difficulty mode, a role for former Snake voice actor David Hayter, local co-op and a new boss. The Kickstarter ends on June 12th if you’d like to pledge.
