Charlie Day on Board for ‘Pacific Rim’

Charlie Day is perhaps best known for his work on FX’s acclaimed comedy series It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. However, with appearances in films like Going the Distance and next month’s Horrible Bosses, he’s slowly but surely making his way on the silver screen.

That being said, it looks like he may have signed on for his biggest project yet. Day will have a role as a scientist in the upcoming Guillermo del Toro film, Pacific Rim. The film focuses on people trying to save Earth from violent creatures in the future. Coming Soon relays that the proposed release of “Rim” will be during the summer of 2013.

Day is a talented actor, and a role like this would be a stretch for him, given that most of his roles thus far have been of the comedy ilk. Hopefully, it’ll be for the better and not for the worse.
