Marvel NOW! Relaunches Invincible Iron Man

The latest piece of the Marvel NOW! puzzle comes in the form of this teaser image, promising a familiar creative team to a new book.


The message seems clear enough. Kieron Gillen and Greg Land will become the creative team of a relaunched Invincible Iron Man series coming in November as part of the Marvel NOW! promotion. This is the same team currently producing Uncanny X-Men. It may seem like a strange move, going from the X-Men to Iron Man. But I would say Gillen's Uncanny X-Men run can be characterized as having a certain intelligence and wit to it that would be a logical fit for a book starring Tony Stark. Similarly, Tony likes surrounding himself with sexy women. So there's your Greg Land.

Actual details about this and other relaunched titles are still slow coming, probably due to Marvel's desire not to spoil the end of Avengers vs. X-Men. So there's no word yet on what Gillen and Land plan for this series.

Even so, it's a sure thing that I will be checking it out.
