Cyberpunk 2077 Will Have Multiplayer

Cyberpunk 2077 will be getting a multiplayer component when it releases in 2015. One of the reasons that this is even being mentioned now is to hopefully build a team of developers for the upcoming project, which doesn't look as if it is as far along in development as CD Projekt Red's other franchise sequel, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

The more interesting thing to note is that Cyberpunk 2077 will not star a central character, but instead a series of characters that you will choose dependent on what character class you decide on. Problem is, all the developer is willing to state right now is that "we are thinking about multiplayer," and that is that. No one there knows exactly what the muliplayer component will be as of right now.

It is an exciting thing to think about, especially on the verge of new consoles that will be able to run this game, but color me just a bit skeptical as to if it will pan out. I wasn't the world's biggest fan of The Witcher franchise, and adding multiplayer into established single-player experiences usually ends badly. However, being that this is a new property, it could work.

Cyberpunk 2077 has a tentative release date of 2015 as of right now.
