Daredevil: Season 2 To Have a Fight Like the Hallway Scene ‘on Crack’

"The art of meaningful punches"
A big highlight for many Daredevil viewers was the “hallway scene” from “Cut Man,” the second episode of the series. All filmed in an Oldboy-esque single take, the scene showcased Matt Murdock slugging his way through a hallway of child traffickers. And fans were probably wondering if the show could possibly outdo itself in Season 2. According to Charlie Cox, they have. At a TCA press event, the Daredevil star told reporters that “there are a number of really good fights" this season, but “there is one in particular that [he’s] really excited about because it's kind of like an homage to that scene, but it's almost like that scene on crack." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B66feInucFY With the inclusion of dangerous and varied characters like Elodie Yung's Elektra and Jon Bernthal's Punisher, it should come as no surprise that the action is going to be dialed up to eleven in Daredevil’s sophomore season. But that doesn’t mean action is just going to be thrown in for the sake of it. "I think what is the genius of Phil Silvera, the fight coordinator and stunt coordinator who choreographs these fights, is the fights are all character-driven and the fights tell a story. It's not just to look pretty or to look cool," said Bernthal, a sentiment Cox agrees with. "There is absolutely an attempt to make sure every punch or kick that is thrown is like a line of dialogue; there is motive behind it, there is reason behind it, it means something. I think the writers do a really, really good job to kind of find these sequences so that they fit the story and so they don't stick out like a sore thumb." Daredevil: Season 2 will be released on Netflix on March 18. Featured image via ftw.usatoday.com.
