AMC’s upcoming TV drama, Feed the Beast, has just cast David Schwimmer and Jim Sturgess in leading roles, according to Variety.
Feed the Beast is based on a Danish drama Bankerot. It focuses on two best friends, Dion Patras (Sturgess) and Tommy Moran (Schwimmer), who decide to open a restaurant. The series will be adapted by writer/showrunner Clyde Phillips (Dexter, Nurse Jackie).
The president of original programmed and development for AMC and SundanceTV, Joel Stillerman, is excited to have David Schwimmer and Jim Sturgess on board. He commented to Variety that he can’t wait to bring this story to life.
Additional casting for Feed the Beast includes Michael Gladis, who will play Patrick Woichik, a soft spoken, local mobster with a passion for pulling teeth, and Pilar Herrera (Lorenza Izzo), a woman who meets Tommy in a grief group. Tommy’s late wife Rie Moran will be played by Christine Adams and John Doman will play Tommy’s father, Aiden Moran, a ruthless businessman and unapologetic racist.
Feed the Beast will premiere in May 2016 with 10 hour-long episodes. Production will start this February in New York.
