After long speculation, Bungie’s long anticipated sequel gets its first full-length trailer. After Cayde spun us a tale of recent events, we finally get to see what’s going on in the world of Destiny. For unknown reasons, the Guardian’s home in the Last City was attacked. Destroying everything the Guardians own, Cayde and Zavala rally what remaining troops they have left. As promised, the trailer shows what happened to your weapons, teases story elements, and promises loot.
At the end of the trailer, it invites everyone to preorder Destiny 2 for early access to its beta.
Of course, this is only a trailer with no actual gameplay shown off. Other than setting the scene for what’s to come, the trailer is pretty loose on information. We won’t have to wait long on new information on Bungie’s next big project as they announced a gameplay stream for May 19th. Though, I enjoyed my time with the original Destiny, it didn’t keep me invested for too long. Here’s hoping that the sequel improves upon the first and truly builds a world worth hours of time and commitment. I’m not one to get excited from a cinematic trailer, but Destiny 2 sure does a good job at getting me hyped.
Here’s the trailer below so you can check it out for yourself:
