EA announces Create

EA has just announced a new multi-platform title called Create. The game loosely ties together the expansive level creation tools of Little Big Planet with puzzle solving elements in a way that EA hope will work as a family title. The design tool aspect seems to be the central part of what they are trying to achieve, with the puzzles being more selective. "We wanted to design a game where the entire family can explore, decorate, and solve challenges where no solution is wrong and the only limit is the imagination” said Harvey Elliott, General Manager at EA Bright Light, the studio developing Create. In each scene the player is presented with ways to power-up their play and unlock new hidden areas, while being encouraged to experiment with objects and use effects to create simple, challenging solutions.

A player can use the drag and drop interface to place an object and create an environment as simple or as complex as they like. As producer Rod Humble explains.  “You really can do anything with it on that spectrum. It's not a game maker it's not a 3D art tool, it's this lovely mush in between.”

Once a player has created a level they can then up load it and share it with the community as well as browse, download, and remix anyone else’s creation.

Due for release in November on the PC, PS3, Mac, Wii, and Xbox 360. With the PS3 version supporting the soon to be released Move motion controller.
