Fable III Delayed on PC

The original Fable was released on the Xbox in 2004 and then ported to the PC shortly afterwards. Fable II was released on the Xbox 360 in 2008, but there was no PC port to be found. Which is why it was such a surprise for Fable III to be announced with a simultaneous Xbox 360 and PC release on October 26th of this year.

However, Microsoft Game Studios have confirmed that the PC version has been delayed, with a new release date expected to be announced soon.

According to Microsoft: "The console and PC versions are now on different schedules as we're focusing on building experiences optimized for each platform.”

Fable III will continue in the Action-RPG vein as its predecessors, and will see the player attempt to overthrow his tyrannical brother, current ruler of Albion. The second part of the game, however, will see players ruling the kingdom themselves, giving the game an addition strategic layer. Legendary British actors such as Stephen Fry, Sir Ben Kingsley and John Cleese will provide voices for the game.

A great looking game, but bad news again for PC gaming: unfortunately it's something we're getting very used to.
