20th Century Fox has been relatively quiet about the upcoming youthful reboot of The Fantastic Four. Now, we get our first peek at the teaser trailer for the Marvel property. It appears that the movie has a dark and gritty tone, reminiscent of Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy. Check it out below:
According to Deadline, they have heard the whispers that this one has been a challenge to put together, but it has Chronicle director Josh Trank making his first big-budget effort. It also has a talented cast of up and coming actors; they include Whiplash star Miles Teller as Reed Richard/Mr Fantastic, Fruitvale Station actor Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch, House Of Cards actress Kate Mara as Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, and Snowpiercer star Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm/The Thing.
This take on the famous comic book series feels different from the lighter and sillier previous versions from 2005 and 2007, which were met with disappointing reactions from critics. That being said, the movies still managed a combined $619.6 million worldwide box office return. We will see if this latest incarnation can reinvigorate the franchise.
The movie is scheduled for release on August 4, 2015.
