Fighting Game Announcements at Paris Game Week

"Street Fighter V's Release Date, Tekken 7's Playstation Release Plans & More"
Paris Games Week also had a bevy of fighting game announcements specifically from Sony's press conference. The big fighters there were Street Fighter V and Tekken 7, so let's recap what Capcom and Namco Bandai brought to Paris this week.

Despite Capcom still dealing their announcements getting leaked, they did announce the return of the Yoga man himself Dhalsim for Street Fighter V. He has an older and wiser look this time along with some differences to his signature zoning style. His V-Skill allows him to float and hover for a few seconds along with being able to cancel that to any normal or special move. His V-Trigger is reminiscent of Dormammu's flame carpet from Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, but more like Erron Black's caltrops from Mortal Kombat X where players that stay on the fire Dhlasim puts on the ground take potential damage. Dhalsim was another expected veteran to return and once again, his new additions almost make him a completely different character than his past incarnations.
That was not all for Capcom with Street Fighter V at Paris Games Week. They also announced the final release date, which is February 16, 2016 for Playstation 4 and PC. Six additional characters are planned for release throughout 2016 as they are saying a new character released every two months, so take your guesses who they're adding in as DLC. While you can pay for them as the easy way, you can still unlock them with in-game fight money as Capcom is adding in daily goals for folks to complete to earn more of that. Street Fighter V is playable at Paris Games Week & also this weekend's Canada Cup tournament at Toronto, another Capcom Pro Tour premier event for Ultra Street Fighter IV.

Bandai Namco finally makes it official for Tekken 7's console versions earlier this week No release window was announced yet, but the Playstation 4 version is planned to have exclusive content and also Playstation VR support. The exclusive content could likely be cosmetic customization we seen in past games and the VR thing reminded me when Gameworks arcades had Tekken 3 in a virtual arena setting where real punches and kicks counted as moves. I'm still waiting on an arcade expansion similar to Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion Namco for Tekken 7.
That was pretty much all from Paris Games Week in terms of fighting games. Street Fighter V is just three months away with another beta phase happening before February (hopefully in December personally) and Tekken 7 is finally official for real on consoles. Let us know what you think what stood out with those games this week on the comments below.
