Fire Emblem Direct Recap

"Several new announcements"
A week removed from the Nintendo Switch event, we’re giving a Fire Emblem-themed Nintendo Direct focusing on some new titles hitting the Nintendo Switch as well as Nintendo 3DS and mobile devices. We already knew about Fire Emblem Warriors, the collaboration between Nintendo and Koei Tecmo that is succeeding the popular Hyrule Warriors, but we’re actually surprised of what else was in store. fire_emblem_echoes_shadows_of_valentia Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia -Takes gameplay from Fire Emblem Gaiden, the second game in the series -“Free-roaming” gameplay, allows freedom on a map and actual movement in dungeons. Tapping enemies proceed smaller tactical battles -Full voice acting -Releases May 19th for Nintendo 3DS, a 2-pack of amiibo figures based on the characters Alm and Celica fire-emblem-awakening-01-13-17-1-1024x576 Fire Emblem (Nintendo Switch) -A traditional Fire Emblem is in the works for Nintendo Switch for a 2018 release Fire Emblem Warriors -Showed only Chrom slashing enemies, just like Hyrule Warriors -Fall 2017 release on BOTH Nintendo Switch and New Nintendo 3DS (no older model 3DS games are compatible, like with Xenoblade) mobile_FireEmblemHeroes_illustration_03 Fire Emblem Heroes -Android and iOS -Has two kingdoms in battle, and they summon characters from the FE universe -Has micro transactions and in-game currency to hire new heroes like Chrom, Marth, Lyn, Robin and many more -Features new artwork by Yusuke Kozaki, and dubbed voice acting for all characters -Characters can level up and be more useful in battle -Has a big Brave Frontier and Final Fantasy: Brave Exodous vibe, but with a traditional FE grid-based strategy. The grid is much thicker than normal games in the series for “bite-sized gameplay” and touch screen play -Has Story mode, Training Tower, Arean Duels and Hero Battles (which are limited time events) -Available February 2nd on Android, later on iOS. You can visit https://events.fire-emblem-heroes.com/vote to vote for a character to appear for the first event in Heroes. It’s a pretty solid lineup for a 20 minute Direct based on one franchise, and a surprising support of core titles to the 3DS in a post-Switch landscape (I REALLY wanted Echoes on Switch).
