Fox Orders Marvel Pilot about Mutants

The comic book trend continues with Fox. The network just ordered a pilot for a Marvel series about mutants on the run. The series is being created by Matt Nix (Burn Notice). Marvel Studios logo The series doesn’t have a title yet, but it does have a plot. This Marvel series will focus on two ordinary parents who have children with mutant powers. They must go on the run to escape the government who is trying to hunt them down. The family joins up with a network of hidden mutants and they fight to stay together and safe, according to TVLine. Nix will be executive-producing along with Marvel TV chief Jeph Loeb, Bryan Singer and others. Singer is also signed on to direct the pilot episode. He is currently serving as an executive producer on FX's Legion and was a producer on various X-Men films. This series will mark the second team-up between Marvel and Fox (who still own the rights to Marvel's X-Men properties, along with the term "mutants"). While the two studios seem content to work together on the small screen, it is unlikely that this thaw will translate to the big screen any time soon. Are you excited for another Marvel show to hit the small screen? Is there room for two shows about about mutants? We’ll keep you updated with any further news on this upcoming series.
