Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Wraps Production

Writer and director James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy) announced on his official Twitter account that principal photography for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has finished one day ahead of schedule after several months of filming at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta, Georgia. Gunn also recently confirmed that the sequel to his 2014 hit will be coming to this year's San Diego Comic-Con, promising fans that they willll get to see "something pretty cool". Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will see cast members Chris Pratt (Jurassic World), Zoe Saldana (Star Trek), Dave Bautista (Spectre), Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel (Fast and the Furious series), Michael Rooker and Karen Gillan reprise their roles from the first movie as Peter Quill, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, Groot, Yondu and Nebula, respectively. They will be joined by new additions Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Chris Sullivan and Kurt Russell. As with the first movie, Nathan Fillion and Stan Lee are expected to have small cameo appearances. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Based on the Marvel superhero team of the same name, the original Guardians of the Galaxy is one of the most critically acclaimed and successful entries in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It saw a group of ragtag misfits and losers band together to thwart a deadly threat to all life in the universe. At the end of the movie, they took on the name Guardians of the Galaxy and headed off into space to continue their adventures. Little is known about the plot of the sequel, except that more information will be revealed about the true nature and identity of Chris Pratt's character Peter Quill. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is produced by Marvel Studios’ president, Kevin Feige, with Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Jonathan Schwartz, Nik Korda and Stan Lee serving as executive producers.
