Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Beauty and the Beast’ Shoots Next Summer

Last time we checked in on Guillermo del Toro’s Beauty and the Beast redo, Emma Watson was set for the lead. Still, there was sense of when the film would get off the ground. Now, the actress relays that filming should begin next year.

MTV recently interviewed Watson for her upcoming film The Perks of Being a Wallflower, during which she also chatted about “Beauty”:

"We [del Toro and I] met a week or two ago, and we started working on the script, and it's going to go next summer. It's so funny, obviously I've been doing a lot of other work, and I was nervous. I was like, 'Is this going to go away?' And Guillermo is so psyched about it, and he's like been thinking about it so much.”

Watson, most famous for the Harry Potter franchise, also stars in Sofia Coppola’s The Bling Ring and will play a part in Darren Aronofsky’s Noah. The Perks of Being a Wallflower hits in limited release on Friday.
