Turn off the Lights

Halo’s Warthog Will Be Featured in Forza 4

At an event hosted by 343 Industries, developer Turn 10 announced that the Warthog from Halo 4 will be featured in Forza Motorsport 4. Before anyone starts dreaming of racing a Warthog against Ferrari, Turn 10’s Dan Greenawalt confirmed that the Warthog will not be drivable. Instead, it will be available as an unlockable in Forza 4’s Autovista mode, which lets players admire their vehicles using the Kinect for a virtual walk-around.

In the trailer released that shows off the Warthog, Jen Taylor, voice of the Halo series’ Cortana, provides the narration, and discusses in-depth statistics and other information for the vehicle.  Halo fans learn that the Warthog tops out at 78mph, along with other stats that they will be sure to pass on during their next online match in Halo Reach.

Forza 4’s Autovista mode utilizes the Kinect in many ways. Among these, players can lean in toward their TV screens, which will zoom in on their car. A swing of the hand will open the door, allowing players to hop inside the car, and even turn the ignition on.

Forza 4 is scheduled for an October 11th release date. To learn everything you ever wanted to know about the Warthog, watch the trailer below.
