British actor Tom Felton is joining The CW superhero series The Flash for the show’s upcoming third season. As first reported by TVLine, Felton will play Julian Dorn, a CSI who works alongside Barry Allen at the Central City Police Department and believes that there’s more to Allen than meets the eye.
Felton is probably best known to audience as the villainous Draco Malfoy from the Harry Potter film series. The 28-year-old actor also had recurring roles on series such as Murder in the First and Full Circle, as well as the mini-series Labyrinth.
While Felton’s role on The Flash is still shrouded in mystery, the plotline for the series’ third season will be quite familiar to comics fans. Series star Grant Gustin recently revealed on Twitter that the title of the season three premiere episode was “Flashpoint.” The episode title is a clear reference to Flashpoint, a 2011 DC Comics crossover event in which The Flash went back in time to save his mother’s life and ended up disrupting the timeline in the process (which, coincidentally, is exactly what The Flash did in the second season finale).
Audiences will find out how much the events of the TV series resemble those of the comics when season three of The Flash premieres on October 4 at 8 EST/7 CST.
