House of the Dead: Overkill Coming to PS3

House of the Dead: Overkill is an on-rails shooter developed by Headstrong Games and originally released by SEGA on the Wii back in 2009. It is the fifth game in SEGA’s well loved arcade franchise and acts as a prequel to the original House of the Dead game. The graphically enhanced and Move enabled PS3 version is scheduled for an October 25 release. This updated version, which will be known as the Extended Cut, will also include 3D support and other extra features such as trophies and additional game modes. All of the seven original stages have been re-mastered and will be accompanied by two new extra stages.

Sega's Gary Knight jokingly explains in the press release why the PS3 version will be the definitive one: "The House of the Dead: Overkill - Extended Cut on Playstation 3 will send players to the shrieking mad heart of mutant mayhem. This time we went further, faster and bloodier than before. We extended everything, even the title."Experience 3D so real, you’ll still be crying late into the night and Move support so moving you’ll place every shot right between the eyes! “

This announcement is great news. The original Wii version was an excellent game and this extended and improved PS3 version will be well worth picking up for anyone who already owns a Move motion controller.
