Ikaruga Flies onto Steam Next Week

Tresure's classic shooter & one of the hardest games of all-time, Ikaruga, will launch February 18th on PC through Steam. The game is a vertically scrolling shooter that allows players to either absorb or dodge enemy fire based on their polarity. It got its initial western release on the Nintendo GameCube in 2003 and Xbox Live Arcade in 2008.

According to the game's Steam page, Ikaruga will feature local co-op, full controller and keyboard support, two game modes, and three levels of difficulty. The game will also record play, allowing the player to post their best videos to online leaderboards. In addition, players can take control of two ships using only one controller for added difficulty, and the game's vertical playing field can be rotated to either play as a side scrolling shooter, or to utilize rotating monitors.
No price has been announced yet, but you can look forward to our coverage right here next week.
