Sony Computer Entertainment America confirmed today that Sucker Punch Productions has suffered layoffs. SCEA confirmed the news via a statement to IGN.

SCEA can confirm a reduction in workforce has taken place at Sucker Punch Productions. Sucker Punch is appreciative of the tremendous work team members contributed to the inFAMOUS and Sly Cooper series, and wishes them the best in their next endeavors.

Sucker Punch’s most recent game was the Playstation 4 exclusive Infamous Second Son. Sucker Punch was founded in 1997 and released the first Sly Cooper for PS2 in 2002. The studio has a long history with Sony, releasing three Sly Cooper games for PS2 and 2 Infamous games along with a standalone Infamous DLC for PS3. Infamous Second Son was their first PS4 game. Their next game is the upcoming Infamous First Light, a standalone DLC for PS4.

No word yet on how many have been affected by these layoffs or if these layoffs will affect future games that Sucker Punch might be working on.
