Insomniac Games, the people who brought you Ratchet and Clank and the Resistance series, have announced that they will be revealing their new game sometime between now and PAX, which is in September. They have talked a little about the forthcoming releases in a newsletter:
“Want to be the first members of the public to see our new game being played with your own eyes? We’re bringing our new game to a very special Penny-Arcade Expo panel on Saturday evening (September 4th), at 6:30pm in the Serpent Theatre. G4TV’s Adam Sessler will moderate a panel with key creative talent from Insomniac Games as we discuss (and demo!) our upcoming PlayStation 3 project.”
Now, if you didn’t already know from previous news, they have announced they are going multiplatform instead of strictly working with Playstation. However, not all of their new games are going multiplatform. If I had to guess I’d say that they making a brand new IP for when they do actually go to the Xbox so don’t hold your breath for Ratchet and Clank or a Resistance game.
This news letter only talks about the PS3 though, so there is a better chance this isn’t the aforementioned new title, and is most likely going to be the newest Resistance game. Seeing that they just released a Ratchet and Clank game, it would make sense as well as the fact that there was that billboard months back revealing Resistance 3. So, make sure to keep checking back for an update on Insomniac’s latest game.
