J.J. Abrams may direct “Star Wars: Episode IX”

J.J. Abrams Directing 'Star Wars Episode VII' It has been a some announcements regarding the Star Wars franchise recently. Earlier this week Gareth Edwards' spin-off movie has been given a title, Star Wars: Rogue One and his Godzilla composer Alexandre Desplat will write the score. Now Latino Review has reported that J.J. Abrams may return the series to direct "Episode IX'. Abrams has directed the latest instalment to the series, "The Force Awakens" which is currently in post-production. Looper director Rian Johnson will take over the series, writing and directing "Episode VIII". But if the rumour is true then Abrams would bookend the new trilogy and Latino Review has verified with four independent sources that Abrams is Disney's frontrunner to direct "Episode IX". We have to watch this space (pun unintended). Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens will be released on December 18, 2015 and "Rogue One" will come out next year on December 16, 2016. "Episode IX" is pencilled in for a 2019 release date.
