Avatar remains the biggest box office hit in history, with a box office gross of $2.8 billion worldwide and three Oscars wins for its technical achievements. The movie was also groundbreaking for its use of 3-D technology, which created the movement for big budget films to incorporate it into their filmmaking.
Despite the delay, there is no denying the anticipated excitement for what majestic new worlds and creations Cameron and his team are conjuring up. 2017 cannot come soon enough.
