Jon Snow to Be King Arthur for Warner Bros.

Game of Thrones star Kit Harington has been cast as King Arthur in Warner Bros. medieval action movie Arthur & Lancelot.

Harington, who plays Jon Snow in "Thrones," bastard son of Lord Eddard Stark of Winterfell, will play a similar character in Arthur, also an ilegitimate son in this version, who is being raised by a poor knight in a small village and will one day become a great leader.

The film, which THR says will take the same light-hearted approach that Warner Bros. applied to Sherlock Holmes was written and will be directed by David Dobkin (Wedding Crashers).

As it stands, Harington will play opposite Swedish-American actor Joel Kinnaman (AMC's The Killing) as Lancelot, a "rebellious nobel who distrusts the established government." The role of Guinevere is not said to factor strongly into the first film (assuming there will even be more).

Arthur & Lancelot looks to begin filming this coming March with a release schedule a year later on March 15, 2013.
