Marvel’s Agent Carter has found itself an unexpected villain for season two. Ken Marino (Veronica Mars, Party Down, Wet Hot American Summer) will play a mob boss named Joseph Manfredi, according to Variety. His character is a leader in the Maggia crime syndicate who will be helping Agent Carter’s enemies.
Marino will be reunited with showrunners Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas, who also created Reaper, which Marino also starred in. The producers at Agent Carter said in a statement that they are excited to be working with Marino again, because of his great range in abilities. Even though he mostly stars in comedies, he can switch to drama and romance easily.
Marvel’s head of television, Jeph Loeb commented that Marvel is known for creating villains that have a certain charm and presence about them, and Joseph Manfredi is no different. He will be both endearing and menacing, which will add another layer to the already talented supporting cast.
Other new cast members for the season season include Wynn Everett who will play Whitney Frost, Lotte Verbeek who will play Ana Jarvis, Currie Graham as Whitney’s high-powered businessman husband and Reggie Austin as Jason Wilkes, a quirky scientist.
Season two of Agent Carter is scheduled to air midseason 2016 on ABC.
