Kristen Stewart will be the Fairest of Them All

Kristen Stewart is currently negotiating to play Snow White in Universal’s Snow White and the Huntsman. The actress, best known for her role as Bella Swan in the Twilight films, will play Snow White, while Viggo Mortensen steps into the role of the huntsman. The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision Blog reports that Universal offered Stewart the role this past weekend, though the studio had her atop its list and courted her throughout last week.

Universal’s ardent desire for Stewart to lead the film makes sense since she is one of the most popular actresses among the young Hollywood crowd. Additionally, she boasts the combo of innate talent and star power. Still, Snow White feels like a strange role for her to play. This will be the actress’s first mainstream project upon finishing up Twilight, the project that propelled her to A-list status. In tandem with Mortensen, the pair will definitely make the film appeal to a wide demographic of both teens and fantasy fans.

Outside of Twilight, next up for Stewart is the Walter Salles adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s On the Road, where she'll star alongside her future “Snow White” co-star Viggo Mortensen, as well as Amy Adams, Garrett Hedlund, and Sam Riley.

How do you feel about Kristen Stewart playing Snow White?
