Mass Effect 2 Gets PS3 Release Date

Mass Effect 2 was a huge critical and commercial success when it was first released in January of this year, and EA have now confirmed to IGN that Mass Effect 2 will definitely be coming to the PlayStation 3, with a release date of January 18, 2011 in the US, and January 21 for Europe.

There are still no plans to release Mass Effect 1 on the PS3, but developers BioWare have said they will include an interactive comic on the PS3 version of Mass Effect 2 to help players who are new to the series get up to speed with the story. The comic will also allow players to make the interactive choices originally made in the first game which affect the story in the second.

The PS3 release of the game will include content on the disc that was previously released as DLC on the Xbox 360 version: Lair of the Shadow Broker, Project Overlord, Kasumi: Stolen Memory and the Blood Dragon Armor. As well as that, the Zaeed and Firewalker content is said to be accessible through the Cerberus Network.
