Maze Runner: The Death Cure Sets New 2018 Release Date

dylan-obrien-maze-runner-ftr20th Century Fox has announced that the final part in The Maze Runner trilogy, The Death Cure, is now scheduled for release on January 12, 2018. That is almost a year after the movie's original February 2017 planned release. The production was delayed when star Dylan O'Brien was injured during a tragic accident on set earlier this year. O'Brien is believed heading towards a full recovery, although his time in the hospital was extended past the originally projected six weeks. The Maze Runner: The Death Cure is directed by Wes Ball from a screenplay by T.S. Nowlin, like the previous entries in the series, The Maze Runner and The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials. The movies are based on the popular YA novels of the same name by author James Dashner. The current planned release date for The Maze Runner: The Death Cure coincides with the opening of Sherlock Gnomes, the sequel to the animated movie Gnomeo & Juliet, as well as with a, as of yet untitled, Fox Marvel film, which has now been moved to March 2, 2018.
