Turn off the Lights

Michael Fassbender (finally) Confirmed for Ridley Scott

Actor Michael Fassbender just recently signed on to star in Ridley Scott’s Prometheus alongside Noomi Rapace.

According to The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision Blog, Fassbender portrays an android in the sci-fi epic. Since the fall he's been in discussions to take on the role, and now that he’s officially signed on to star, he won’t be playing the titular huntsman in Snow White and the Huntsman; Viggo Mortensen just signed on for that role.

By the time this film hits theaters on June 8, 2012 (formerly set to release March of the same year), Fassbender will have starred in X-Men: First Class as Magneto and perhaps become a more familiar face with the American public, given that the film performs successfully – and why wouldn’t it? Additionally, his co-star Rapace will likely become a household name upon starring in the Sherlock Holmes sequel.

With those films releasing prior to Prometheus, Fassbender and Rapace could prove to be box office draws. Keep an eye out for more news on the quickly developing Prometheus.
