Following rumors of an upcoming sequel, WB Games has confirmed the next chapter of Shadow of Mordor. Middle-Earth: Shadow of War will bring back Talion and Celebrimbor, as they turn all of Mordor against the Dark Lord, Sauron. The trailer doesn’t give much information away, but just enough to give viewers an idea of the story to come.
Shadow of War takes place directly after the first title, expanding the Nemesis system. This time around the Nemesis system will affect more than just some characters. The new Nemesis system will encompass the environment and include special followers and fortresses. Each follower will have their own stories, and fortresses will allow players to create their own orc armies.
Along with the announcement trailer, we also were given details on special editions and DLC. Shadow of War will have two Nemesis expansions, which feature new missions, orcs, and equipment. Along this, the game will have two story expansions featuring a new campaign and playable character.
Shadow of War will feature for different versions: standard, silver, gold and mithril. As a result, each edition will feature its own set amount of DLC.
Shadow of War releases on August 22nd for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows.
