Miller Promises More ‘Mad Max’ to Come

"The Aussie mastermind will continue to expand on his post-apocalyptic landscape"
Director George Miller is currently being showered with critical praise for the release of Mad Max: Fury Road, which many are calling a new action classic (including yours truly). The movie is coming off of a successful opening weekend, which grossed $45.4 million domestically and another $64 million internationally. It appears that Miller will be revisiting Max once again.

According to Variety, the Australian director made the pledge in his first Tweet, saying “Hello Twitter! Thanks for all the kind words written and said about the film. We had a lot of fun making it and there’s more Max to come.” Miller also revealed in a recent podcast with Jeff Goldsmith that the fifth film in the franchise will be titled Mad Max: The Wasteland. Tom Hardy said in an interview last month that he’s attached to star in three more Mad Max films. Adding, “Everything’s based on figures and how things are perceived. Inevitably it’s a business.” Warner Bros. has yet to confirm that there will be any more films in the franchise. Based on the strong opening, great word-of-mouth, and universal acclaim from critics, that confirmation will arrive shortly from the studio.
