Comic Con Movies: Resident Evil: Afterlife Panel

Paul W.S. Anderson, Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter, and Wentworth Miller were on hand to talk about the latest sequel in the longest running video game adaptation:Resident Evil: Afterlife. The panel was short on spark or new revelations. The movie was actually filmed in 3-D but you couldn’t tell from the trailer and clips; both lacked depth.

Comic Con Movies: Paul Panel

You have to expect a good reaction from the Comic Con crowd when you show footage from a film that starts off with two guys at Comic Con. Such is the case with Paul, a film that comes out for Universal next March from Superbad and Adventureland director Greg Mottola. Some footage of the Comic Con part was even shown, naturally a strange (in a cool way) for this year’s attendees, even though the filming was not actually done at a previous Comic Con, but at a pretty solid re-creation.

Comic Con Movies: Cowboys & Aliens Panel

Jon Favreau, who’s known how to rock Comic Con going on four years now since arriving to promote the first Iron Man, brought his most recent project, Cowboys & Aliens, to Hall H Saturday evening. 

The first big announcement during the Cowboys & Aliens segment was that the film will be shot and shown in glorious 2-D.

Comic Con Movies: Let Me In Panel

This afternoon, Overture Films presented a panel for its upcoming remake of the Swedish film (based on the Swedish novel) Let the Right One In, retitled Let Me In because apparently that’s more straightforward for us Americans. The story focuses on the relationship of two pre-teens played by Kodi Smit-McPhee (The Road) and Chloe Moretz (Kick-Ass). Both were on the panel along with Academy Award nominee Richard Jenkins and director Matt Reeves (Cloverfield).

Comic Con Movies: Harry Potter and Sucker Punch Panels

The lengthy Warner Bros. panel that started with The Green Lantern capped off with some new footage of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (it’s not certain if it was just Part 1 or both) and then Zack Snyder’s (300, Watchmen) new movie Sucker Punch which wowed the crowd.
