NBA ELITE Delayed

EA have announced that there will be a delay on their new NBA franchise, NBA ELITE. The delay may be linked to the recent demo which some have criticized for being buggy. It featured a brand new control scheme that relies heavily on the analogue sticks to shoot and defend, and which received some negative feedback.

The game has been taken from its scheduled release date of October 5 until some time next year. Its original released date would have put it up against Take Two's NBA 2K11, which EA seem to have felt they were not yet ready to compete against.

EA’s official blog said: “The decision to delay NBA ELITE was hard because the game has great promise.  But ultimately we feel this is the right thing to do.  We’ve been making steady progress on basketball for the past few years and it’s going to take extra time to make the game.”

This set back also means that NBA Jam, which was due to be included on the NBA ELITE disc is now going to be released as a stand alone product, they have given no exact date, only that it will arrive some time before Christmas.
