NBC Pilot Casts Mandy Moore, Milo Ventimiglia

Pilot season may still be several months away, but NBC is getting a head start with a new series by Galavant’s Dan Fogelman. This new untitled series has already cast Mandy Moore, Milo Ventimiglia, Justin Hartley, Sterling Brown and Ron Cephas Jones, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The show will be an hourlong dramedy about a cast of characters that were all born on the same day. Ventimiglia (Gilmore Girls, Heroes, Gotham) is set to play Jack, a down-to-earth guy married to Moore’s character, Rebecca. The couple has just moved and are about to become parents to triplets. Hartley (Smallville, The Young and the Restless, Mistresses) will play Kevin, an attractive and successful television actor who is bored with his bachelor life. Brown will play Randall, a well-dressed businessman with a wife and two daughters living in New York and Jones will be playing Randall’s biological father who abandoned him soon after he was born. Fogelman will be writing the script as well as serving as executive producer with Jess Rosenthal and Charlie Gogolak (Back in the Game, Kyle XY). NBC plans to film the pilot by the end of the year. We’ll just have to wait and see if NBC benefits from getting a jump start on pilot season. (Featured image via Rex Shutterstock)
