Need For Speed: Rivals Announced For Next Gen Consoles & More

A new NFS title has been announced named Need For Speed: Rivals.

Powered by the innovative Frostbite 3 engine, Rivals was revealed this week with the news that it will be available on both Sony and Microsoft’s current and next gen consoles, as well as PC.

It is expected that Xbox 360, PS3, and PC gamers will have Rivals by November this year, whilst a date for the Xbox One and PS4 versions have yet to be announced.

Making the game are EA’s Ghost Studio and Criterion Games, who have been responsible for other series titles in the past, such as Most Wanted.

According to a post regarding the title on EA’s website, “In Need for Speed Rivals, gamers play as either a cop or racer, where each side of the law has its own set of high stakes challenges, rewards and consequences.”

A new feature called All-Drive is also being introduced to Rivals, which is “…an innovative new online feature that allows gamers to seamlessly transition from playing alone, to playing with friends, eliminating the line between single player and multiplayer.”

Other additions to the game include the inclusion of the Ferrari brand back into the NFS world (which you might have guessed if you've watched the trailer) and a whole host of new technology which can be used to evade the police or capture the racers.

So what do you make so far of this new Need for Speed title? Will you be waiting for the next gen version or will you be getting your hands on it as soon as you can? Let us know your thoughts below.
