Netflix Announces House of Cards Premiere Date

The year-long wait for the second season of Netflix’s hit series House of Cards is almost over, with the announcement by the internet streaming site that the series will return on Valentine’s Day of next year.

House of Cards, which stars Oscar winner Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright as scheming Washington D.C. political power players, premiered to high viewership and strong critical acclaim this past winter. The series also scored nine Emmy nominations, including nods for Best Drama and Best Actor and Actress, taking home three awards.

When we last left Spacey’s Francis and Wright’s Claire, the duo were poised for huge political gain, despite dealing with stress in their marriage. But, their power plays were in danger of falling apart due to the machinations of Zoe (Kate Mara), a reporter that was getting ever closer to uncovering their scheming and illegal activities.

As with its first season, the second season will have all 13 episodes released at once, allowing for binge watching. Check out the teaser for the second season below.
