New Mario Kart 8 DLC Adds Non-Mario Courses, Karts, Characters

"Link, Isabelle and Villager playable soon as is the Blue Falcon Kart!"
The day before the Mercedes-Benz DLC launches, Nintendo UK has decided to show off future Mario Kart 8 DLC that'll hit later this year and next year. Since the quiet, and perhaps accidental announcement, Nintendo of America announced the DLC later during the evening, confirming a worldwide release.

From the company’s site, it looks we can get Tanooki Mario, Cat Peach and oddly enough Link from the Legend of Zelda this November as playable characters. Along with the characters, expect two new cups with four courses each and four vehicles. One of the courses we see are from Excitebike, another from F-Zero and, speaking of which, we also fought Luigi glaring in Captain Falcon’s Blue Falcon.

That’s not all! In May 2015, another bit of Mario Kart 8 DLC, dubbed AOC (add-on content) packs, will release with playable Dry Bowser and Animal Crossing’s Villager and Isabelle characters and another set of two cups and four vehicles. One track is confirmed to be Animal Crossing-themed as well and another is littered with question marks, so what could it be?
The packs costs $7.99 each, and will be bundled together like a Season Pass for $11.99. Buying both AOC packs either as a bundle or separately will net players with eight different-colored Yoshis and eight different-colored Shy Guys. The Yoshis and Shy Guys will unlock as soon as the player buys both packs, so season pass holders get them immediately.
