NYCC Launches First Wave of Ticket Sales

The first wave of tickets for New York Comic Con went on sale today—and unless you acted fast, some packages were already sold out a mere three hours later.

Undoubtedly influenced by a long history of digital mishaps (including comiXology’s recent crash), NYCC has wisely decided to offer only a few of its packages for sale at a time. At noon, NYCC’s official Twitter account, NY_Comic_Con, announced that the first of these packages, including 4-day and VIP tickets, were available for purchase. Three hours later, the Ultimate VIP and Special Access VIP packages, priced at $475.00 and $190.00 respectively, were sold out. As of this writing, 4-Day tickets set at $85.00 are still available, though there is no telling how long that will last.

Also available are $5.00 Sunday Kids tickets (available for ages 6-12 and requiring purchase of an adult ticket), as well as “Select Add-ons” like a $25.00 Official New York Comic Con 2013 T-shirt. Hey, you want to attend in style, right? You can also join the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund for a $25.00 donation, or pick up a NYCC Sticker for $3.00.

Though NYCC has not released the date of sale for 3-Day and Single-Day tickets, the website encourages potential buyers to check back soon. This year’s NYCC will take place from Thursday, October 10 to Sunday, October 13, and will be hosted at the Javits Center. You can pick up your tickets at NYCC's official site—provided you get there early enough.
